BASS
Matt's musical influences for bass guitar are Ska, Funk, Rock and Jazz, specially the artists Green Day, Madness, and Bad Manners

Matt picked up the bass just before the lockdowns after wanting to follow in his father's footsteps. He's played bass guitar in a number of bands, Beer Belly, JSW.

PIANO
Matt originally began playing the piano at 7 years old. Ever since, he's tried to incorporate it in anything he does, whether that be stage, screen or band work.
Matt's main influence is Elton John as he puts such passion into his work, something Matt emulates. Alongside this, Mike Barson from Madness is a major influence with his identifiable octave bassline being a characteristic of Matt's playing.

ANKLE BASHERS
Ankle Bashers are a music duo/trio, giving you the party you want! They play a variety of genres; from Jazz to Swing to Pop and Rock. The hits of the 20th century are what they give you, alongside mashups of classic songs, some comedy chat and a drinking game!

We can cater for any event; a live music pub night, wedding, or party!

A typical set list includes Daydream Believer (The Monkees), Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You (Frank Valli), and My Baby Just Cares For Me (Nina Simone).

SAXOPHONE
Matt first played the Alto Saxophone back when he was 11 after watching every Madness music video he could find! Soonafter, he found the smooth sound of the Tenor Sax and has been playing both ever since.
Throughout Matt's musicianship, Madness have been a clear influence on all three of his main instruments, with their unique Ska sound and 'we'll do what we want' attitude, which he takes into his playing!

JSW
For 3 years, Matt was part of this Indie Rock band, playing keys, bass, saxophone and vocals. We headlined gigs, played at Battle of the Bands events, and were booked for birthdays.

Forget You (Cee Lo Green), Purple Rain (Prince) and Yellow (Coldplay) were some of our most played songs, alongside originals written by bandmates Lewis Martin and Fletcher.
